VAN DRIMMELEN archive
In the ‘90s fashion label VAN DRIMMELEN was known for its pure and apparent simplicity, with a great eye for detail and special way of constructing, where any decorations arise from the heart of the garment itself, giving her work an almost serene beauty.
After presenting her first collection in Paris in 1994 with Le Cri Néerlandais (Pascale Gatzen, Viktor & Rolf, Marcel Verheijen and Lucas Ossendrijver), the VAN DRIMMELEN brand quickly became internationally known and sold in stores such as Barneys Japan, Colette in Paris, Kokon to Zai in London, Kirna Zabete in New York and Van Ravenstein in Amsterdam.
Van Drimmelen also designed a limited edition shoe for 'Adidas Design series 2001', a coveted collector's item. Until 2003 she successfully presented her collections twice a year in Paris and occasionally in Tokyo.
But at a certain point all this, the treadmill of the fashion system, could no longer satisfy her and Van Drimmelen decided to reconsider her work. For some years she layed low and did what she felt like doing; from singing in a band to teaching at art schools and making stage clothes for Dutch rockstar Anouk. From 2007 on she started developing a new fashion collective with an embrace of the handmade: Painted Series
